Directory on phones
Many phones support the ablity to view the system directory directly on the phone. CaptainChris Community PBX has support for displaying the Directory on phones that support this feature. If your phone is provisoned, it will be setup automaticly. However, below is how you set it up on supported phones.
Every brand uses a diffrent XML format and file. They are not cross compatible.
If your phone is not on this list, you can use the API to create your own script to generate the phonebook for your phone.
MicroSIP
MicroSIP uses XML. To set the phonebook:
- Open the dropdown menu, go to settings
- At directory of users, put in: https://communitypbx.captainchris.me/phonebook/microsip.xml
- Click save
Then go to contacts, and the system directory shoould be there.
Polycom
Polycom uses LDAP. LDAP is not supported at this current time.
Cisco SPA phones
Cisco SPA phones use XML. Cisco SPA phones are not supported at this time.
Cisco 3PCC phones
Use https://communitypbx.captainchris.me/phonebook/cisco.xml
Cisco Enterprise Phones
Use https://communitypbx.captainchris.me/phonebook/cisco.xml
Yealink
Yealink phones uses XML.
- Go to the web admin interface
- Go to directory on the top right
- Go to remote phonebook on the left
- For remote URL, use "https://communitypbx.captainchris.me/phonebook/yealink.xml"
- For display name, use "CaptainChris Community PBX"
- Click confirm
- Go to settings on the left
- Click remote phone book under Disabled under Directory
- Click the right arrow to enable Remote Phone book
- Click Confirm
Now press the directory softkey, go to "Remote Phone Book", then "CaptainChris Community PBX". You will now see the directory.
